World Bank Cuts 2026 Global Growth Forecast to 2.5%
The World Bank's June 2026 Global Economic Prospects projects global growth slowing to 2.5% in 2026, as the Middle East conflict drives sharp energy price increases and renewed inflation. Emerging-market and developing economies face their weakest per-capita income growth since the pandemic, with growth recovering in 2027–28 as energy supplies normalise. Risks remain firmly tilted to the downside.
