ICC's 2026 Arbitration Rules Take Effect
The International Chamber of Commerce's revised Arbitration Rules entered into force on 1 June 2026, marking the institution's most significant procedural overhaul in a decade. Key changes include removal of mandatory Terms of Reference, a new Highly Expedited Arbitration regime targeting three-month awards, and a formal early-determination mechanism for manifestly unmeritorious claims. The reforms follow a record 2025 caseload of 894 new arbitrations.
