Introducing the CLNZ Books Newsletter — Three Editions, One Goal: Keep You Ahead
Starting this month, CLNZ Books has a proper newsletter home: clnzbooks.com/pages/newsletters. It's not a single generic mailing — it's a small family of editions built around how professionals in Law, Economics & Finance, Energy, and Medicine actually want to stay informed: by sector, and sometimes by role within that sector.
Three Tracks, Not One
The newsletter now runs on three editions, each with its own archive page:
- All Collections — a period roundup covering one standout new title in each of the four sectors, plus News & Insights across all of them. The right subscription if your work touches more than one field, or if you simply want the full picture.
- Law — For Libraries — focused on acquisitions-relevant Law titles and institutional news, written for collection development staff.
- Law — For Lawyers — the same period, read through a practitioner's lens: case law developments, tribunal decisions, and titles that matter in practice rather than on a shelf.
Splitting Law into two editions wasn't arbitrary. A university librarian building a collection and a practising lawyer tracking a live dispute need different things from the same news cycle — the ICSID annulment ruling against South Korea, for instance, means something different to each of them. Rather than force one generic summary on both, each gets the version that's actually useful.
What Each Edition Actually Contains
Every edition follows the same disciplined structure: a short note from the bookseller, new-title highlights relevant to that edition's audience, a featured catalogue when the period's theme supports one, and a digest of News & Insights — real developments in the field, not marketing copy dressed up as news.
Why This Matters for You
Most bookseller newsletters are really just product blasts. This one is built the other way around: the news and the titles arrive together, so a new book shows up next to the ruling, the regulation, or the market shift that makes it relevant right now — not months later when you've already gone looking elsewhere.
