ICAO Security Week Opens in Astana: Aviation Security, Cyber and Drones on the Agenda
ICAO's Security Week runs 20–22 October 2026 in Astana, Kazakhstan, under the theme "Secure Skies in a Complex World". The agenda covers modernising aviation security with AI, cybersecurity frameworks, conflict-zone risk assessment and secure cargo, ahead of the Third High-level Conference on Aviation Security in 2027. For counsel advising airlines, airports and drone operators, it signals where security and cyber obligations are heading. Separately, Hong Kong's Security of Payment Ordinance, in force since 28 August 2025, is settling into practice: five nominating bodies list 270 adjudicators, and no adjudication had been filed as of the government's June 2026 report.
