A note from the bookseller
Two new titles in Law this period — one on jurisdiction before the Court of Arbitration for Sport, one on the law where music, video games and AI meet — plus the jurisdictional questions now reshaping sports arbitration in Europe below.
New titles
The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS): A Practitioner’s Guide to CAS Jurisdiction
Nilo Aguillar Effori and Botond Pintér · Edward Elgar Publishing, 2026 · Hardback, 512 pages · ISBN 9781049412511
A decision-by-decision analysis of how CAS panels rule on their own jurisdiction and competence, organised by topic and supported by indexes of awards and arbitrators’ cases. It is a focused companion to article-by-article commentaries on the CAS Code, and a natural fit for sports law, international arbitration and EU law collections.

This period in Law
CAS jurisdiction is no longer a quiet threshold question
Since the CJEU’s ruling in RFC Seraing v FIFA (C-600/23, 1 August 2025), arbitration imposed by sporting rules must remain open to effective judicial review on EU-law questions. UEFA has since amended its Statutes, effective 1 July 2026, to name Dublin as a possible CAS seat. Jurisdictional objections and forum choice now carry more weight for clubs, federations and their counsel.
