Description

Energy Storage for Renewable Energy Systems explains single- and multi-storage systems within the context of renewable energy applications. Because solar and wind generation is intermittent, storage design and control are what actually determine whether a renewable system delivers reliability and grid stability. Through eleven structured chapters, the book moves from fundamental concepts and modeling techniques to advanced control strategies and AI applications for intelligent storage design.

Key Features

  • A comprehensive, multidisciplinary exploration of energy storage in renewable energy systems
  • Introduces fundamental concepts, modeling techniques, advanced control strategies, and artificial intelligence applications
  • Useful for students, researchers, and engineers working in renewable energy and smart grid technologies

Coverage

Necessity of storage in renewable energy systems · Overview of storage systems used in RES · Different storage configurations · Storage systems in hybrid renewable energy systems · Storage systems modeling · Energy management control of RES with energy storage systems · Optimization, integration, and strategic perspectives · Applications of energy storage.

About the Author

Djamila Rekioua is Professor at the University of Bejaia, Algeria, where she leads the Renewable Energies and Electrical Power Systems team at the Research Excellence Laboratory. She holds a PhD in electrical engineering (2002) and specializes in photovoltaic, hydrogen, and wind turbine systems. She is ranked among the top 7 scientists in engineering and technology in Algeria and among Stanford University's global top 2% of researchers since 2020, and is a lead author on an IPCC special report chapter on climate change and cities.

Necessity of Storage in Renewable Energy Systems · Overview on Storage Systems Used in Renewable Energy Systems · Different Configurations of Storage in RESs · Storage Systems Used in Hybrid Renewable Energy Systems · Storage Systems Modeling · Energy Management Control of RESs with ESSs · Optimization, Integration, and Strategic Perspectives of RESs · Applications of Energy Storage.

Why buy this book?

For engineers and grid planners, the hard problem in renewable energy isn't generating power — it's storing and dispatching it reliably against intermittent supply. This book gives that team the actual modeling, control, and AI-integration toolkit for single and hybrid storage architectures, written by a lead author on IPCC climate-cities work. It's directly usable for utility-scale and microgrid storage design, not just conceptual background.
