Description
Sustainable Aviation Fuels discusses the transfer process of aviation to carbon-neutral flights, including how to manage the transition period. It also demonstrates how to develop and design a new approach for environmentally friendly air transport with reduced emissions. Covering the full scope of commercialisation, market considerations, investment advisement and transition challenges of sustainable aviation fuels (SAF), the book tackles questions related to the cost of changing fuel types, competitive market models existing alongside the oil industry, and strategies for airlines to implement, including feedstock reliability and avoiding shortages.
Key Features
Covers the full commercial scope of SAF from crude oil supply chain context through to jet fuel market structure and investment considerations. Addresses airline-specific implementation strategy alongside the impact of international regulations on feedstocks and SAF production. Written by a former Deputy Vice President of Fuel Supply and CPO of Lufthansa Passenger Airlines, combining insider industry and academic perspectives.
Coverage
Eleven chapters spanning a forward-looking overview of global aviation, crude oil and its supply chain from well to wing, the jet fuel market (JET A-1 and SAF), investment considerations, airline considerations, the impact of international regulations on feedstocks and SAF production, feedstocks as the starting point of SAF production, production of SAF, market implementation strategies, and a summary and outlook with glossary and bibliography.
